Season Start Dates:
Youth - May 1st
Adult - May 8th
The fields will be prepared and maintained in the weeks leading up to May 1st and will not be ready for play prior to this date. From a safety perspective, as well as to ensure fields are not damaged prior to the season, we ask that you remind your teams to stay off of the fields until the date that applies to your user group. We saw significant damage to fields in 2023 due to groups utilizing fields before and after the sport field season. This resulted in fields being pulled offline for a significant period of time during the season.
A few other things to note below:
- Sport Field Monitors – We will have 2 sport field monitors this season working Monday-Friday afternoon/evenings and Saturday/Sunday days to monitor league games, practices, and tournaments. They will be equipped with a cell phone and if you need to contact them they can be reached at 306-220-7806.
Inclement Weather Guidelines
During heavy rain or after a prolonged rain (e.g. 6 to 8 hours or more), discontinue play to reduce damage to the playing surface. When deciding to use a field during or after inclement weather: do not use the field if there is standing water (e.g. puddles) on the field; and do not use the field if water squishes under one’s feet when walking on the field.
It is the user’s/tournament organizer’s responsibility to assess field usage conditions prior to playing. All repair costs resulting from sport groups using wet fields will be charged directly to the offending team(s) or organization(s).
