  • League Playoffs are a double knock out format.

    NO NEW INNING WILL START AFTER 100 MINUTES FOR U13,U15 and U17 (In the event of a double header, games will both be drop dead at 90 mins) 

    NO NEW INNING WILL START AFTER 90MINUTES FOR U11   

    Official Softball Canada Rules will Govern Unless noted below.

  • League Rules will apply unless noted below. Refer to important rules located in coaches/managers package given at the beginning of the season.
  • No game can end in a tie; at time limit or 7th inning is finished (5th inning for U11) game shall go to extra innings using the tie breaker rule. Pitching and catching inning limits reset.
  • Tie Breaker Rule: The batter that last completed a turn at bat in previous inning shall start the inning as a base runner at 2nd base.
  • U15 Only – No pitching inning limit during the A final!!!!
  • SMSL has the final say in standing!
  • No protest will be allowed, the ruling on the diamond is final.
  • No infields allowed.
  • Home team is the team is the higher seed based on regular season standings. But if the highest team lost a game and make its way back to the championship round then a coin toss will determine home team.
  • SMSL has the final say in standings!
  • Home team is responsible for scorekeeping, and the scorebook can be found in the diamond box. 1 page per game.
  • Line up card must be turned into the scorekeeper and umps 15 minutes prior to the game time and lineup cards and scorebooks can be found in the diamond box at each diamond.
  • Home team is responsible to enter score on the website.
  • Extraordinary Weather

  •  · In the event of severe weather (e.g., continuous heavy rain, lightning, excessive heat), SMSL has the authority to change the duration of games or any other function of the tournament, including such things as the following: Relocate and/or reschedule any games. Reduce, by up to 50 per cent, the scheduled duration of any game (including playoffs).  · A game is considered complete when 50 per cent or less of the playing time remained when the game was terminated by the Umpire. When rescheduling is happening SMSL office will not be answering phone calls, contact your commissioner for answers.
