New Zone Boundaries Presentation
SMSL is made up of four zones. The boundaries for the zones are defined as follows:
Hustlers (Zone 1)
East of the South Saskatchewan River, North of College Drive except for Arbor Creek.
Raiders (Zone 2)
East of the South Saskatchewan River, South of College Drive and includes Arbor Creek
Lasers (Zone 3)
North of 33rd Street from the west city limit to Circle drive and then south along Circle Drive to 22nd Street and North side of 22nd Street and then east to the South Saskatchewan River.
Phantoms (Zone 4)
South of 33rd Street from the west city limit to Circle drive and then south along Circle Drive to and South side of 22nd Street and then east to the South Saskatchewan River.

Zone Boundaries
Effective Immediately:
Any Athlete registered or subsequently playing in the incorrect zone will be suspended from all SMSL sanctioned activities until it is determined that they are properly registered and playing within the boundaries of there residence and zone.
Commissioners and Coordinators will be held accountable for checking and verifying all addresses to determine proper residency which pertains to there zone.
If the address is incorrect for a particular zone, it will be sent to the Dispute and Resolution Boundaries committee (DRC) within SMSL.
Saskatoon Selects
The Selects program organizes city-wide teams for U19 Girls, and Boys in U11, U13, U15, U17 and U20.
Zone Transfer for out of town players
U11
Because Softball Saskatchewan does not have categories like the older age groups (A, BW, B) for Provincial Championships we will only require players to get a release from their nearest or home Association, they do not also have to get a release from an “A” centre within the District (Ie: Twin Cities).
We currently have 3 U11 players that are applying for a District Transfer.
The deadline for District Transfers is April 15th and a decision is not made on any applications until after the deadline.
U13
Any player wishing to register on an “A” team in Saskatoon must get a release from their nearest or home Association
as well as the “A” centre within the District (Twin Cities).
Any player wishing to register on a “B” team in Saskatoon who will be attending Provincial Championships only requires a release from their nearest or home Association.
We currently have 1 U13 A player (with no proper release ) and 2 U13B players that are applying for a District Transfer.
The deadline for “A” District Transfers is not until April 1
st and a decision is not made on any applications until after the deadline.
The deadline for “BW” and “B” District Transfers is April 15th and a decision is not made on any applications until after the deadline.
U15
Any player wishing to register on an “A” team in Saskatoon must get a release from their nearest or home Association
as well as the “A” centre within the District (Twin Cities).
Any player wishing to register on a “B” team in Saskatoon who will be attending Provincial Championships only requires a release from their nearest or home Association.
We currently have a total of 7 U15 players that are applying for a District Transfer.
The deadline for “A” District Transfers is not until April 1
st and a decision is not made on any applications until after the deadline.
The deadline for “BW” and “B” District Transfers is April 15th and a decision is not made on any applications until after the deadline.
U17 and U19
The deadline for “A” District Transfers in these age groups was Feb. 1
st.
Any player wishing to register on a “B” team in Saskatoon who will be attending Provincial Championships only requires a release from their nearest or home Association.
We currently have 3 U17 A players that have applied for a District Transfer.
We currently have 3 U19 A players that have applied for a District Transfer.
The deadline for “BW” and “B” District Transfers is April 15th and a decision is not made on any applications until after the deadline.
Please note the players who attend school in Saskatoon (High School or Tommy Douglas) still require a release from their home or nearest Minor Association and then apply for a District Transfer. In addition, the Player Protection Rule does not apply to any player releases or District Transfers that happened in 2020 or 2021.
